The Resuscitation Truths
Working at the nexus of medicine, aviation, and the military, I find the overlap of mentality and processes among these fields staggering (and fascinating).
In particular, the so-called “SOF Truths” are uncannily applicable to medicine as they are to the Special Operations Forces (SOF). These Truths are held sacred by those in the SOF community, and serve as a baseline guide for day-to-day activities and future planning.
Just as the SOF Truths stand as a totem to mark the notable differences between the approach of SOF and the conventional forces, so do they represent the tenets of excellence that separate Resuscitationists from the rest of the medical providers.
With very minimal changes, all 5 Truths in fact ring true for resuscitation.
